About the Role


As a Senior HR Advisor at Road, you play a crucial role in supporting a rapidly evolving organization while making a significant impact. You are a driven and experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of HR legislation and policies. You are passionate about employee well-being and committed to optimizing good employer practices. You proactively engage with the staff and serve as a reliable source of information and support. 


You conduct various discussions and guide employees through leaves, absences, and potential conflicts.

In this senior role, you enjoy transferring your extensive knowledge and experience to your HR colleagues, acting as a sparring partner and mentor for them. You are also responsible for advising high-level management on (complex) HR issues for departments such as Sales, Engineering, Marketing , Product, Legal & Compliance, where you are the subject matter expert in HR processes, tools, development, labor laws, and communication.


Additionally, you are a key player in collaboration with the Head of People & Culture and your HR colleagues as you collectively work on strategic projects and initiatives. Your goal is not only to enhance the HR function but also to implement targeted structures in our dynamic and fast-growing international organization.

Your Responsibilities Include:


  • Optimizing and organizing HR processes;

  • Shaping and professionalizing policy documents; Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations;

  • Advising and supporting operational, tactical, and strategic issues; Being the link between management and employees;

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments, both internally and externally;

  • Being the eyes and ears of the organization from an HR perspective, proactively addressing issues and solutions;

  • Guiding employees in matters such as long-term illness, labor disputes, etc.;

  • Guiding absence processes (contacting UWV/occupational health physician);

  • Guiding pregnancies from an employer's perspective;

  • Conducting exit interviews and creating anonymous reports;

  • Proactively brainstorming solutions to retain staff;

  • Guiding in the annual HR Cycle;

  • Contributing to HR projects.



Job requirements


What we value in our candidates?


  • Experience in an international scale-up, preferably in a Fintech company;

  • You have at least 7 years of demonstrable experience in a similar role;

  • You enjoy sharing your extensive knowledge and experience with the rest of the team and are aware of your role as a role model.

  • You are entrepreneurial, decisive, highly analytical, and results-oriented;

  • A self-starter who quickly navigates a fast-growing organization;

  • You are a dedicated and experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of HR legislation and policies;

  • Knowledge of labor law in other countries (France, Italy, Belgium, England, Spain, and Germany) is a plus;

  • You can communicate excellently in both Dutch and English;

  • You have a high level of integrity, stand for optimizing good employer practices, and are a true people person;

  • You have no fear of actively taking on tasks: there is still much to build in this phase of the organization.

  • You possess a healthy sense of humor
