About the role

Are you an expert in training and development? Are you ambitious and do you see yourself being part of an international team in a dynamic company? Then this is your chance to join Road as a Training & Development Specialist.

As the Sales Training & Development Specialist you will report to the Director of Sales Operations. The Sales Operations team is part of the Sales department and is responsible for building our world-class sales engine together with the regional sales teams. Road has regional sales teams in the Benelux, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Italy. The regional teams have members in the Amsterdam HQ as well as in the designated countries. Your responsibility will be to develop the training program of the full Sales department, including the execution of basic training and train-the-trainer sessions (for sales management).

The scope of the training program is from onboarding to operational excellence and your target group consists of Country managers, Business development managers, Account executives, Customer success managers, and Sales operations specialists. You will be working closely together with Sales management, the Training and Quality Manager (from our Support department), as well as with our HR department and external training agencies when required.

We are looking for a professional with relevant (sales) experience that is proactive, decisive, and hands-on. Someone who can easily connect with colleagues across different teams and is able to communicate convincingly at different levels. In this role, execution is key in order to bring all colleagues within the department to the next level of performance.

Job requirements

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing the yearly training program for roles in the sales department, assuring the desired level of knowledge (internal & external) and skills on our products, services, and sales process

  • Execute basic sales training with the various international sales teams

  • Train sales management on key knowledge and skill sets to train their teams

  • Drive the execution and continuous improvement of our onboarding program and ensure 80-90% of all onboarding participants pass their onboarding exam

  • Set up and manage online classroom and/or e-learning training to support remote learning

  • Execute (yearly) knowledge and skill-set tests with the sales teams to assess the performance level and identify points of improvement

  • Advise all stakeholders within the sales department on the learning needs and learning path of their team members

  • Keeping track of developments and innovations in your own field and incorporating them into training courses

What do we value in our candidates?

  • An HBO degree.

  • 3+ years experience in sales training and development, or relevant experience

  • Proven track record in designing/developing high-quality learning modules in an international dynamic business environment;

  • Knowledge of how to improve performance through a coaching culture.

  • Strong project management capabilities

  • Strategic thinker who can create a vision or concept and operationalize the plan with concrete action;

  • Experience working with external vendors/providers;

  • Excellent English communication skills both verbal & written (Dutch is a plus);

  • Experience in instructional design;

  • An effective collaborator who can share the vision and persuade others to join and be part of the journey;

  • Entrepreneurial and innovative Mindset.
