Product Manager - Billing and Settlement

About the role

We are looking for a Product Manager to grow our product team and become better at what we do. As Product Manager - Billing and Settlement you will work directly with one of our product teams and take responsibility for leading an important range of product activity.

You will focus on key internal and customer groups; Working alongside our financial team to continually improve our internal financial processes and controls, and at the same time, remaining focussed on the wants and needs of the businesses who use the EV charging and associated financial data to power their businesses.

As a product manager at Road, you will work closely with our designers, architects, and engineers but also meet regularly with other internal groups (e.g. Customer Support) to help you define and drive our product roadmap, focusing on payments and EV transaction reconciliations and customer billing.

Your responsibilities include:

Billing Product Strategy

• Develop and implement a comprehensive billing product strategy, including supporting software solutions and agreed processes for EV charging services; this approach needs to include various pricing models, subscription plans, and dynamic pricing mechanisms.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and customer needs.

Product Development

• Drive the end-to-end product development lifecycle from ideation to launch with your billing and settlements team.

• Conduct market research, gather user feedback, and stay informed about industry trends to continuously enhance your product offering.

Settlement Optimisation

• Design and manage settlement processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in financial transactions between our platform and both roaming partners and charging station operators.

• Work closely with finance and operations teams to streamline settlement workflows as well as to identify and address errors and discrepancies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Engineering, UX/UI, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Support teams to deliver a seamless and user-friendly billing and settlement experience.

• Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding of product requirements.

Compliance and Security

• Stay informed about financial and regulatory requirements related to billing and settlements in the EV charging industry.

• Implement effective security controls to protect financial transactions and sensitive user data.

What we value in our candidates

• At least 5+ years of relevant work experience

• Excellent spoken and written English language skills, Dutch is a bonus

• You are driven, engaged, precise, organized, and structured

• You are familiar with scale-up environments

• You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, a deep understanding of financial processes, and excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• You can define and prioritize product features aligned with business goals, coupled with strong project management skills, ensuring an efficient development process.

• Experience in market research, competitive analysis, and user feedback analysis contributes to our commitment to staying ahead. Additionally, a basic understanding of software development processes is crucial for seamless communication with engineering teams.

• Familiarity with large-scale customer billing and settlement processing, financial reconciliation processes, and established Financial ERP systems would all be advantageous, as would experience in process improvement and/or automation, particularly in a Financial domain. Familiarity with relevant laws and accounting standards would also be beneficial.
