We exist at the intersection of cleantech and fintech and our mission is to make EV charging effortless for everyone.

About the Role

Are you an analytical, curious student eager to gain hands-on experience in Finance at a fast-growing, international technology company? At Road, we're looking for a FP&A & Control Intern who is excited to apply their academic knowledge to real business challenges, develop their financial and analytical skills, and contribute to improving our financial processes.

As a FP&A & Control Intern, you'll gain practical experience across different areas of Finance, from financial reporting and controlling to budgeting, forecasting and process improvement. Working closely with our Finance team, you'll discover how financial data is collected, analysed and used to support business decisions, while learning how effective financial controls contribute to accurate and reliable reporting.

Your day might involve supporting the month-end closing process, analysing financial data, investigating discrepancies or helping prepare budgets and forecasts. You'll also have the opportunity to explore how financial processes can be improved through automation and AI, gaining valuable insights into how technology is transforming the Finance function.

Beyond your daily responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of an independent improvement project, where you'll apply knowledge from your studies to a real business challenge, research potential solutions and present your findings and recommendations to the team.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Financial Closing & Reporting and External Audit: Support month-end closing activities, gaining practical experience in how financial transactions are processed, reconciled and reported.

  • Financial Control: Assist with reviewing financial data, identifying discrepancies and understanding how financial controls are designed, documented and implemented to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, learning how financial plans are developed, monitored and used to support business decisions.

  • Financial Analysis: Prepare reports and analyses, identify trends and translate financial data into meaningful insights.

  • Financial Systems: Gain hands-on experience with NetSuite, our financial management system, and learn how financial information is managed within an international organisation.

  • Process Improvement & Automation: Analyse and document existing financial processes, identify opportunities for improvement and explore how automation and AI can make workflows more efficient.

  • Independent Improvement Project: Take ownership of a finance-related project, applying your academic knowledge and research skills to develop practical recommendations and present your findings to the team.
