Role context

The Financial Controller is a strategic partner in financial oversight acting in a dynamic fintech industry niche – EV charging. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records and reports. This role ensures compliance with internal controls, enhances financial planning and analysis capabilities, and drives data-driven decision-making to support the company’s strategic objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee sales control processes, ensuring accurate and complete sales accounting and reporting (according to Dutch GAAP/IFRS).

  • Participate, challenge, improve month/year end closing process.

  • Develop and maintain a robust internal control environment, identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Standardize financial procedures across the organization for consistency and compliance.

  • Assist in overall analytical review of company’s performance, and in preparing management reporting package.  

  • Improve, re-engineer, automate financial processes to reduce manual effort and boost-up efficiency.

  • Participate and represent Finance Team in multiple improvement projects (e.g., billing automation). 

  • Coordinate and manage annual external audit cycle. 

  • Partner closely with the business controller for accurate business KPI’s forecasting / budgeting. 

  • Contribute to further development of Finance Team, through knowledge sharing and trainings. 

  • Assist in conducting variance analysis (plan vs. actual, period-over-period), identifying trends and areas of improvement. 

  • Assist in conducting rolling forecasts and sensitivity analyses to adapt to changing business environments. 

  • Handle ad-hoc requests with flexibility and efficiency.

Job requirements

Skills, Traits & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analytics.

  • Robust knowledge of internal control frameworks and risk management.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with PROACTIVE approach to problem-solving.

  • Proper communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in ERP systems use (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), as well as proficiency in advanced Excel and visualization tools (Power BI, Looker). 

  • 4-6 years of professional experience. 

  • Holding ACCA, CPA, CMA, CFA certification is considered an advantage. 

  • Proficiency in Dutch is an asset.
